A Real Pioneer of Peace of Our Times

There are many troubled regions all around the world but it seems there are unusually large number of conflicts in the countries of the African Continent. There are civil wars and conflicts which are Rwanda, Somalia, Congo, Gulf of Guinea conflict, Ethiopia Eritrea's border dispute, Uganda, Darfur, Nigeria, Angola civil war, and the reasons of the conflicts are various.

The reasons are ethnic seizure of power, resource conflicts, regional sentiment, the religious wars, and border disputes, and many countries have put a lot of hard work for the restoration of peace, but the results fell short of its expectations and dictatorship, exploitation, poverty, and bloodshed were caught in a vicious circle so it still seems far away. They are the places that few or no korean immigrants live there.

Like this dangerous and most people avoid living in the area, Chairman Lee Man Hee of the new world Christianity The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, departed last November 30th and toured the African area as the movement of eastern to western(東成西行).

This movement was accomplished by the request of the pastors and believers in Africa to chairman Lee to visit the country several times.

At first, congregation members withheld general president Lee Man Hee from visiting Africa, for Africa was in an usual and horrible situation in some aspects.

Nevertheless, he went through with the visit explaining as follows: "Even in America, there are a lot of Christians who hope eagerly for the history of God to come true. I'd like to inform them that the history of God came true in Korea, the eastern country. Besides, I don't like to listen to an excuse that they have never heard about the news."

President Lee also put an emphasis like this. "I earnestly hope that all the people will know the religion well and that unification of religion will come true through it. God wants us to live in peace without any war. So, I made up my mind to visit Africa, in an attempt to accomplish all the aims of fulfilling the peaceful world."

Though he is over 80 years old, he does not mind going and working anywhere, and he is willing to endure hardship risking his life. From these aspects of his life, we can find him a really respectable and reliable leader of our times.
